Web Design and Web Development jobs in Toronto
Well, I been lay off from my web design job for more than a year. It had been a very long hard year for me. I had been force to do freelancing work and other short term contract work for different companies. With that said I like to share my list of job posting web sites I had used in the past year. A job posting web site like Craigslist.
Yes, even Craigslist has web designing and web development jobs opening in Toronto. Just make sure you are extra careful when using Craigslist, because it is free and anyone can post a job posting. Watch out for scammers but in the most part follow your gut.
I notice there are many companies that want to save $800 dollars by posting their job openings for free on web site like Craigslist and there are companies already paid $800 dollars or more to post their web design or web devilment job openings on web sites like monsters.ca or workopolis.com but couldn’t find a candidate. That leaves those companies to post their job openings at a free site like Craigslist to attract different group of people.
Also, there are many staffing agencies who use Craigslist because it save them money. These staffing agencies pay to search resumes on web sites like montsters.ca and workopolis, but if they can post their web design and web development jobs free on Craigslist, they really have nothing to loss. It is a win-win for the staffing agencies not having to pay for finding the right candidates.
There are many good paying web designing and web developing jobs being offer on Craigslist. Don’t think because Craigslist is free, it mean the companies posting on it does not have the money to pay your salary. There are many high paying jobs on Craigslist as well as low paying jobs. You just have to find the ones you want. Also, if you do freelancing for web design or web development. You can find lots of freelance work on Craigslist. There are individuals, companies, design firm and all sort of people looking for someone to help them build, update or developed their web sites.
Personally, I hate freelancing I would only do it if I’m in a desperate situation, or the projects being offered look exciting, or one of my close friend and family member ask me to do something. Other than that, I stay away from freelancing; it is not my thing I’m not good at freelancing no matter how hard I tried. However, don’t let me discourage you, I know many people who are very good at freelancing and can pay their mortgage working from their home. If freelancing is your thing also check out elance.com
